Introduction: This is the inaugural running of the Australian High Power National Championships, for both rifle & pistol, and we want YOU to “keep’em in the X”. This International course is in line with the course of fire run in all the big shooting countries around the world – such as USA, UK, Canada etc. It has come to your door step (Camp Tamworth) and the competition will be fantastic. Every Service or Match pistol and rifle enthusiast should not miss this event.
* * HP PISTOL FRIDAY: USA “National Match Course” as follows.....
Pistol Specs: Spec 1, round nose lead ammo only. Spec 3 & 5, any ammo type. All CF specs require 120 power factor.
Spec 1: Service - Std Iron – Any Military or Service Issued pistol with iron sights unmodified in any way.
Spec 3: Match - Any Centrefire pistol, of any calibre, with Iron sights.
Spec 5: Match - Optical – Any Centrefire pistol, of any calibre, fitted with any optical sight.
Spec 10: Open - Any Rimfire pistol with Iron sights.
Event Outline: 3 targets set out per shooter – no scoring between matches.
Match 1 50 Yards 10 shots 1 x 10 shot strings Slow Fire (10min) Standing S/H U/S
Match 2 25 Yards 10 shots 2 x 5 shot strings Timed Fire (20sec ea string) Standing S/H U/S
Match 3 25 Yards 10 shots 2 x 5 shot strings Rapid Fire (10sec ea string) Standing S/H U/S
Trophies: Trophies issued under open grade (not classified/graded) to top shooters by pistol specification.

$Cost: $10 for National Event only - Additional $3 to those staying over from SSAA GP Rnd 6
Price includes basic sausage sizzle BBQ lunch. Just up show up for the day
Shooters may cross enter up to as many classes as possible within time restraints.
* * HP RIFLE SUNDAY: USA “National Match Course” as follows......
Day Outline: This event is shot on a range with a butts target system. Shooters will be broken up into details. During matches, one detail will be shooting while another will be scoring. Remaining details will be operating the butts and targets plus spotting shots and assisting where ever possible. We need everybody to please “do their bit”.
Spec 1: Service - Standard Iron - Any issued iron sights service rifle in original condition – zero modifications.
Spec 2: Service - Modified Iron - As above, or faithful reproduction, modified beyond spec - service calibre.
Spec 3: Match - Match Iron - Any commercial, custom or service rifle, of any calibre, with iron sights.
Spec 4/5: Service/Match – As per Specs 1, 2, or 3 but fitted with optical sights.
Note: Shooters may cross enter in up to max 2 rifle specifications/classes ONLY. Consult rules for full specs.
7.30am:
Arrive and sign on for matches.
8.00am:
Scrutineering, Briefing and handing in of “current” classification/grade cards.
8.30am:
Warm Up – 5 min @ distance selected on the day - (supports allowed).
Event Outline: “National Match Course” as follows:
STRING 4 400m Slow Fire Application, Prone U/S (2 sighters + 20 rounds) 20min.
Trophies: National Match Course day aggregate by rifle specifications (un-graded)
- Spec 1 – Top 6 (Service Std/As-Issued), - Spec 2 – Top 6 (Service Modified)
- Spec 3 – Top 3 (High Power Match) - Spec 5 – Top 3 (Any Optical)

Cost: $20 for National Event (FREE to those staying over from SSAA Clubs Challenge).

Primitive camping on range (come self sufficient). Plenty of local motels (self to organise).

Special Note: This event is open to ANY shooter who holds a shooters licence. None AIHPA members do not have scores go towards international registered qualification or classification. Shooters may join on the association on the day before the 2004 discount fee expires.
